3 Five Minute Luxuries for New Moms

There was a time in my life when I could spend time in the evening to take a luxurious bath or have a more than one step skin care routine. However, as a new mom, I struggle to even enjoy shower time. So, I’ve found 3 little luxuries that don’t take up too much time, but still invoke a feeling of relaxation, even if only for 10 minutes at a time.

Hand Masks

Let’s face it – when you have a baby, you wash your hands a lot. Add in a raging pandemic and your hands become so dry! Hand masks are small way to heal your hands in only about 5-10 minutes. If you’re on a budget, another thing I do is mix a little bit of my favorite lotion and some Vaseline/Aquaphor and put on a pair of old gloves for 10 minutes. Just make sure to turn on a show or put on some music before putting the hand mask on, otherwise you’ll be spending a nice 10 minutes in silence (or in whatever other ambient noise you have!)
Foot Soak

My feet are probably in worse condition than my hands, honestly. So having a nice warm 10 minute foot soak feels awesome! You don’t need a fancy foot soaking machine. All you need is a shallow basin filled with warm water (or as hot as you can handle!) and some lavender epsom salts and that’s it! Afterwards, slather your feet in lotion and put some socks on to seal in the moisture!
Candles

Sometimes, just lighting your favourite candle dimming the lights and listening to your favorite music is enough to relax for a short time. Especially if you do this as you’re winding down for bed!
There you have it! 3 little luxuries that you can enjoy daily even if you’re super busy! Bonus points if you can find time to do all three at the same time for 10 minutes!
